WHEREAS, Mr. Jackson Butler died on November 18, 2012;

WHEREAS, Mr. Butler was born on November 14, 1942, son of the late Kelley and Daisy Butler in Lee County Alabama;

WHEREAS, one of eighteen children, Mr. Butler worked at Fieldcrest Mill until his health declined in the 1990’s;

WHEREAS, he was a skilled craftsman and a very creative artisan who loved to work with his hands;

WHEREAS, he always was ready to assist his friends and neighbors with his talents and craftsmanship;

WHEREAS, he was a longtime member of Friendship Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama;

WHEREAS, Mr. Butler is survived by his wife Vera L. Butler of 48 years and four children: one daughter, Leslie L. James, (Israel) of Phenix City Alabama; three sons, Andrew Butler, (Kim), Tommy Butler, (Cathy) and Jeffrey Butler, (Carla) all of Columbus Georgia and three sisters, Ruthie Perry, Betty Davis and Stella Hobson, all of Phenix City Alabama; brother Johnny Butler of Columbus; fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We hereby express our sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Jackson Butler. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Let a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the family of Mr. Jackson Butler.
