An ordinance amending Chapter 2 of the Columbus Code so as to increase the number of directors of the Development Authority of Columbus, Georgia from seven to nine; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY ORDAINS:
SECTION 1.

Columbus Code Section 2-63 is hereby repealed in its entirety and a new Section 2-63 is hereby substituted to read as follows:

“Sec. 2-63. Board of Directors.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. 36-62-4, the number of directors of the Development Authority of Columbus, Georgia is hereby increased from seven to nine members. The terms of office for existing directors of the Development Authority shall continue as set prior to adoption of this ordinance; provided, however, upon expiration of current terms of office for existing directors, their successors shall serve four-year terms of office. For additional directors authorized by this ordinance, terms of office shall be for four years from date of appointment.”
SECTION 2.

All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
