Subject: (EXCP-10-13-3345) Special Exception Use request to Operate a Personal Care Home, Type III in a Residential Office (RO) zoning district located at 6450 Schomburg Road.

On 10/18/2013, Douglas and Patricia Manuel/John I. Rivers submitted a Special Exception Use application to operate a personal care home, Type III in a RO (Residential Office) zoning district. The site for the proposed personal care home, Type III is approximately 3.38 acres. Personal Care Homes, Type III are permitted in an SFR1/RO zoning district only on a site-specific basis upon approval of the Council based upon some conditions.

Attached is a land use map showing the location of the property along with the proposed site plan. The Planning Department staff is currently reviewing the request. We project the request will be on Council’s February 11^th’s agenda. A staff report will be sent to the Clerk of Council prior to the Council meeting date.
