WHEREAS, this Council adopted Resolution No. 71-16 on March 15, 2016 which created the Columbus, Georgia Consolidated Government Tax Allocation District #3: Uptown (the TAD); and,

WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the Muscogee County School District (the Board) is considering adopting a resolution consenting to the inclusion of certain School District ad valorem taxes in the computation of Tax Allocation Increments with respect to the TAD, and authorizing the execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Muscogee County School District and the Columbus, Georgia, a consolidated government; and,

WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Council to approve the execution of the Intergovernmental Agreement in order to implement the participation of the School District in the TAD.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute an Intergovernmental Agreement between Columbus, Georgia, a consolidated government and the Muscogee County School District with respect to the TAD in substantially the same form as attached as Exhibit A.
