AN ORDINANCE NO._________

An ordinance amending the Sections 5-9 (G) and (H) of the Columbus Code so as to increase registration costs for all domestic dogs and cats in Muscogee County as well as to allow for an increase in the handling cost licensed veterinarians can charge for the handling of these registrations all effective July 1, 2014; to establish a set fee for euthanasia services provided for county or municipal agencies from outside of Muscogee County; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS:

SECTION 1.


Section 5-9 (G) of the Columbus Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and there is substituted a new Section 5-9 (G) Items 1-3 to read as follows:

(G) Registration fees. All dogs and cats four months of age or older must be registered. Effective July 1, 2014, the registration fees shall be as follows:

Paragraph (1) of Section 5-9 (H) of the Columbus Code is hereby deleted in its entirety and there is substituted a new Section 5-9 (H), paragraph(1) to read as follows:

(H) Registration procedures; one-stop rabies vaccination – Pet registration:

Section 5-13.1 Disposition of Animals is hereby amended by adding a new paragraph (d) to read as follows: This ordinance shall become effective on July 1, 2014.

SECTION 5.

All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed as of its effective date.
