A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RELEASE OF A SECURITY DEED COVERING 2.52 ACRES OF PROPERTY ON WHITAKER AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the above referenced property was part of a parcel which was the subject of an Agreement For The Purchase and Sale of Real Estate (the “Agreement”) entered into between Columbus, Georgia, the Development Authority of Columbus, Georgia and Masterbuilt Manufacturing Inc., et al as authorized by this Council’s Resolution No. 558-01;
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Agreement Columbus was conveyed a Security Deed which was recorded in Muscogee County Superior Court Deed Book 6401, page 272 on July 16, 2002;
WHEREAS, the conditions of said Security Deed have been satisfied or are impossible to satisfy; and
WHEREAS, Columbus desires that all liens and encumbrances it may have on the property should be released so that it may be sold in furtherance of economic development purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:
That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Cancellation of Deed to Secure Debt which is attached hereto.
Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia held on the 22
day of July, 2014, and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of ______ members of Council.
