Subject: (EXCP-5-14-1155) Special Exception Use request to Operate a Day Care, Type III (more than 18 clients) in a Residential Estate 1 (RE1) zoning district located at 7230 Flatrock Road

On 5/19/2014, W. Perrin Nicolson submitted a Special Exception Use application to operate a Day Care, Type III (more than 18 clients) in a RE1 (Residential Estate 1) zoning district. The site for the proposed Day Care, Type III is approximately 6.34 acres. A Day Care, Type III (more than 18 clients) is permitted in an RE1 zoning district only on a site-specific basis upon approval of the Council based upon some conditions.
Attached is a land use map showing the location of the property along with the proposed site plan. The Planning Department staff is currently reviewing the request. We project the request will be on Council’s August 12th’s agenda. A staff report will be sent to the Clerk of Council prior to the Council meeting date.
