A RESOLUTION DENYING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION USE TO ERECT A WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS FACILITY FOR WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS SERVICE ON THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 6507 MOON ROAD.
WHEREAS,
Verizon Wireless/Andy Rotenstreich have appropriately applied for a Special Exception Use, to erect a 95-foot wireless communications facility (monopine) for wireless communications service on the property described above;
WHEREAS,
new wireless communication facilities are permitted solely as a Special Exception Use under the current SFR1 (Single Family Residential 1) zoning district;
WHEREAS,
in the residential zoning districts, an antenna, tower or concealed support structure may only be located on a property approved for non-single-family residential use, such as a multifamily development, a church or school as indicated in Section 3.2.72.E. of the UDO.
WHEREAS,
the Planning Advisory Commission has reviewed the request and recommend conditional approval and the Planning Department recommends denial.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That the height and distance to residential structures requirement listed under Section 3.2.72 of the Unified Development Ordinance have not been properly met and a Special Exception Use to erect a 95-foot monopole for wireless communication facility (monopine) is denied for the property located at 6507 Moon Road.
