SUBJECT: Street Acceptance -Woodland Creek Court, that portion of Woodland Ridge Drive and that portion of Cross Creek Lane located in Highlands Phase Ten, Garrett Creek

INITIATED BY: Engineering Department


Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of Woodland Creek Court, that portion of Woodland Ridge Drive and that portion of Cross Creek Lane located in Highlands Phase Ten Garrett Creek.

Background: Woodland Creek Court, that portion of Woodland Ridge Drive and that portion of Cross Creek Lane located in Highlands Phase Ten Garrett Creek has (32) Thirty-two residential lots. The street has been improved and meet the required specifications for acceptance by the City.

Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying Woodland Creek Court, that portion of Woodland Ridge Drive and that portion of Cross Creek Lane located in Highlands Phase Ten Garrett Creek. A description of property is as follows: Those certain tracts or parcels of land designated as all of Woodland Creek Court, that certain extension of Cross Creek Lane and that certain extension of Woodland Ridge Drive as heretofore described being shown on that certain map or plat of survey entitled "Highland Phase Ten, Garrett Creek Subdivision, Part of Land Lot 160, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia" as prepared by Hobbs Smith & Assoc., Inc., dated March 3, 2018, and recorded in the Plat Book 165, Page 236, in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia.

Financial Considerations: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.

Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.

Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.

Recommendations/ Actions: Approval is requested for the acceptance of Woodland Creek Court, that portion of Woodland Ridge Drive and that portion of Cross Creek Lane located in Highlands Phase Ten Garrett Creek.

A RESOLUTION

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO WOODLAND CREEK COURT, THAT PORTION OF WOODLAND RIDGE DRIVE AND THAT PORTION OF CROSS CREEK LANE LOCATED IN HIGHLANDS PHASE TEN, GARRETT CREEK ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying Woodland Creek Court, that portion of Woodland Ridge Drive and that portion of Cross Creek Lane located in Highlands Phase Ten, Garrett Creek, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said streets have been improved and meet the required specifications for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends acceptance of the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated April 2, 2018 conveying to Columbus, Georgia Woodland Creek Court, that portion of Woodland Ridge Drive and that portion of Cross Creek Lane located in Highlands Phase Ten, Garrett Creek be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
