An Ordinance providing for the supplemental contributions to the Columbus, Georgia Pension Plan for employees of the Department of Public Safety for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2014:


WHEREAS, Ordinances heretofore adopted by the Council of Columbus, Georgia provided for governmental contributions to the Public Safety Employees Pension Plan for the benefit of eligible employees;

WHEREAS, the Actuarial Consultants have evaluated the Public Safety Employees’ Pension Plan and the assumed investment return of 7% per annum and thus determined that the funding required for fiscal year ending June 30, 2015 is $13,185,244. The amount to be prorated among the CCG Public Safety Employees is 99.41% = $13,107,451 and Columbus Airport Commission Public Safety Employees is 0.59% = $77,793.


That the following named agencies shall make the following monthly contributions for fiscal year 2015 to the Finance Director of the Consolidated Government as their prorated share of the contributions, payable the first of each month:

Consolidated Government $1,092,287.58
Columbus Airport Commission $ 6,482.75


Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held the 17th day of June, 2014; introduced a second time of said Council held on the ________ day of June, 2014 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of _____ members of said Council.
