SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - That portion of Jamesson Way - located in Replat of Lot FR203 Replat of Part of Land Lots 62, 63 & 67, 9th District

INITIATED BY: Engineering Department

Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of that portion of Jamesson Way - located in Replat of Lot FR203 Replat of Part of Land Lots 62, 63 & 67, 9th District.

Background: That portion of Jamesson Way - located in Replat of Lot FR203 Replat of Part of Land Lots 62, 63 & 67, 9th District has 2 commercial lots. The street has been improved and has met the specifications for acceptance by the City.

Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying All that lot, tract and parcel of land situate, lying and being in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, and being known and designated as "Jamesson Way," containing .64 acres as said street is shown on a map or plat entitled "Replat of Lot FR203 Replat of Part of Land Lots 62, 63 & & 67, 9th District, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, dated June 27, 2018, prepared by Moon, Meeks, Mason & Vinson, Inc. and being recorded in Plat Book 165 Page 270 in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court, Muscogee County, Georgia, to which reference is made for the specific location and dimensions of the real property described herein.

Financial Considerations: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.

Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City Funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.

Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.

Recommendations/Actions: Approve the Resolution accepting a deed to that portion of Jamesson Way - located in Replat of Lot FR203 Replat of Part of Land Lots 62, 63 & 67, 9th District.

A RESOLUTION
NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF JAMESSON WAY LOCATED IN REPLAT OF LOT FR203 REPLAT OF PART OF LAND LOTS 62, 63 & 67, 9TH DISTRICT, ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of Jamesson Way located in Replat of Lot FR203 Replat of Part of Land Lots 62, 63 & 67, 9th District, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said street and recommends acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated November 30, 2018, conveying to Columbus, Georgia, that portion of Jamesson Way located in Replat of Lot FR203 Replat of Part of Land Lots 62, 63 & 67, 9th District, be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this reference made a part of this resolution.
