PUBLIC HEARING -
METRA TIA PROPOSED ROUTE CHANGES:
Approval will be requested on March 13, 2018 to adopt the resolution authorizing METRA to make proposed changes to various routes. The route changes would reduce the number of service hours on low performing routes, which would result in some cost savings for the City and would help to extend the life of the TIA funding beyond year 2022. There was extensive public outreach to inform the public of the proposed service changes to include two Public Hearings that were held at METRA Transit System Administration Building, January 30, 2018 and February 1, 2018. On February 27, 2018, a third Public Hearing will be held at City Council meeting.
II. QUIT CLAIM VACANT CITY OWNED PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE LIBERTY DISTRICT TO DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA FOR FUTURE REDEVELOPMENT:
Approval is requested to quit claim city owned vacant properties located within the Liberty District to the Development Authority of Columbus, Georgia for the purpose of issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for future redevelopment.
III. QUIT CLAIM VACANT CITY OWNED PROPERTIES LOCATED IN CITY VILLAGE TO DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA FOR FUTURE REDEVELOPMENT:
Approval is requested to quit claim city owned vacant properties located within the City Village to the Development Authority of Columbus, Georgia for the purpose of issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for future redevelopment.
IV. GDOT/NORFOLK SOUTHERN RAILROAD AGREEMENT:
Approval is requested to enter into Memorandum of Understanding with Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) for Railroad Crossing Warning Devices Upgrades at Crossing Number 718983U located on 3rd Avenue
between 16th Street and 17th Street
.
GDOT is asking for the City to pay for removal of existing driveways that are too close to the crossing and will be in conflict with the warning devices. New curbing will be required along with stabilization of disturbed areas. This work will be done under existing contracts and is expected to cost less than $10,000.

V. STREET ACCEPTANCE - THAT PORTION OF POND VIEW DRIVE LOCATION IN SECTION TWO, SEARS POND:
Approval is requested for the acceptance of that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section Two, Sears Pond.
The Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends the acceptance. No city funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two year warranty.
VI. STREET ACCEPTANCE - KENDALL CREEK COURT LOCATION IN SECTION TWO, KENDALL CREEK:
Approval is requested for the acceptance of Kendall Creek Court located in Section Two, Kendall Creek.
The Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends the acceptance. No city funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two year warranty.
VII. TEMPORARY USE OR SPECIAL EVENT PERMIT FOR FARM STYLE MARKET:
Approval
is requested to approve the request of Woodruff Brokerage Company to have a Farm Style Market once a month over the course of six months at Old Town.
Woodruff Brokerage Company would like to hold several farm style market days at Old Town on 4/19/18, 5/17/18, 6/21/18, 7/19/18, 8/16/18, and 9/20/18 from 5:00pm - 8:00pm. The Inspections & Code Department has reviewed the paperwork to ensure that everything meets the code standards.
