WHEREAS, proposed HB 839 in the Georgia General Assembly would change the manner of appointments to fill vacancies on hospital authorities by amending O.C.G.A. Section 31-7-72;

WHEREAS, the proposed amendment would allow appointments to be made by the county governing authority without the tedious process of nominee submission currently contained O.C.G.A. Section 31-7-72;

WHEREAS, this Council supports the proposed amendment to O.C.G.A. Section 31-7-72 contained in HB 839 and requests that our local delegation to the Georgia General Assembly support the same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY RESOLVES:

We hereby respectfully request that the local delegation to the Georgia General Assembly support the amendment to O.C.G.A. Section 31-7-72 contained in HB 839 which would change the method of appointment of hospital authority members. Let a copy of this resolution be forwarded by the Clerk of Council to each member of the local delegation to the Georgia General Assembly.
