AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2016 BEGINNING JULY 1, 2015 AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2016, FOR CERTAIN FUNDS OF THE CONSOLIDATED GOVERNMENT OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, BY STRIKING SECTION 26 PERTAINING TO COLA’S IN ITS ENTIRETY AND SUBSTITUTING A NEW SECTION 26; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1.


Ordinance No. 15-24 setting the FY16 Budget for various funds of the Consolidated Government of Columbus, Georgia is hereby amended by striking Section 26 in its entirety and substituting a new Section 26 to read as follows:


“SECTION 26.

The Columbus Consolidated Government Pay Plan for Salary and Wages is hereby adopted as part of the FY16 Budget and is incorporated herein by Attachment A. Effective January 2, 2016, a .5% COLA increase is adopted to apply to the salaries of all full-time employees who are active contributing members of either Columbus, Georgia Pension Plan, all DROP participants who are still employed full-time, and all part-time employees whose position is scheduled on the Pay Plan for Salary and Employees. Effective January 1, 2016, all pension recipients, both DROP participants and Retirees, will receive a .25% COLA increase to their pension benefits.”

SECTION 2.

All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.


Introduced at a regular meeting of the Council of Columbus, Georgia, held on the 22nd day of September, 2015; introduced a second time at a regular meeting held on the _______ day of _______________, 2015 and adopted at said meeting by the affirmative vote of _______ members of said Council.
