A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL EXCEPTION TO OPERATE AN AMBULANCE SERVICE IN A NC (NEIGHBORHOOD COMMERCIAL) ZONING DISTRICT LOCATED AT 3554 HILTON AVENUE.
WHEREAS,
Alia Mezayek/Muscogee Ambulance have appropriately applied for a Special Exception Use to operate an ambulance service on the subject property;
WHEREAS,
Ambulance services, are permitted solely as a Special Exception Use under the current NC (Neighborhood Commercial) zoning district;
WHEREAS,
the Planning Department has reviewed the request and recommends conditional approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That all the criteria of Sections 3.2.1.1 and 10.2.7.B of the Unified Development Ordinance have been properly met and a Special Exception Use to allow the operation of an ambulance service is granted for the property located at 3554 Hilton Avenue.
A special exception use is granted for the subject property with the following conditions:
1)
Buffers shall be required along all public right-of-way, including the Fall Line Trace, subject to the approval of the City Arborist and Inspections and Code Department.
2)
There shall be no emergency lights and sirens used until the ambulance reaches Warm Springs Road and Edgewood Road/Cherokee Avenue.
3)
Idling shall not exceed 15 minutes for any ambulances in service at the subject property.
