SUBJECT: Street Acceptance - that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section Two, Sears Pond

INITIATED BY: Engineering Department


Recommendation: Approval is requested for the acceptance of that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section Two, Sears Pond.

Background: That portion of Pond View Drive located in Section Two, Sears Pond has (16) Sixteen residential lots. The Street has been improved and meets the required specifications for acceptance by the City.

Analysis: A deed has been conveyed to the City conveying that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section Two, Sears Pond. A description of property is as follows: All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in Land lot 8 of the 8th District and Land Lot 8 of the 9th District of Muscogee County, Georgia, being known as Pond View Drive, as said Drive is shown on a Plat recorded at Plat Book 165, Folio 221 in the Office of the Clerk of the Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia, entitled Section Two, Sears Pond, dated December 21, 2017.

Financial Considerations: No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.

Projected Annual Fiscal Impact Statement: No City funds are involved until maintenance is assumed after the two-year warranty.

Legal Considerations: In accordance with Section 18-3 of the Columbus Code, all dedicated right-of-way must be accepted by Council.

Recommendations/Actions: Approval is requested for the acceptance of that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section Two, Sears Pond.

A RESOLUTION
NO. _____

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED TO THAT PORTION OF POND VIEW DRIVE LOCATED IN SECTION TWO, SEARS POND ON BEHALF OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA.

WHEREAS, Columbus, Georgia has been submitted a deed conveying that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section Two, Sears Pond, a full description of property on said deed; and,

WHEREAS, said street has been improved and meets the required specifications for acceptance by the City; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has inspected said streets and recommends acceptance of same.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

That certain deed dated February 19, 2018 conveying to Columbus, Georgia that portion of Pond View Drive located in Section Two, Sears Pond be and the same is hereby accepted. The Clerk of Council is hereby authorized to have said deed recorded in the Deed Records in the Office of the Clerk of Superior Court of Muscogee County, Georgia. A copy of deed is hereto attached and by this reference mad a part of this resolution.
