An Ordinance to adopt Personal Transportation Vehicle (PTV) Plan pursuant to state law which will allow the use of PTV’s on designated street segments in the Uptown area; and for other purposes.

THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA HEREBY ORDAINS, AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1.

There is hereby enacted a new Article XXI to Chapter 20 of the Columbus Code which shall read as follows:
Article XXI. Columbus Consolidated Government Plan for Personal Transportation Vehicles

Sec. 20-21.1 Based on the Columbus Police Department’s determination that certain public street segments in Columbus, Georgia are suitable to safely accommodate both regular vehicular traffic and Personal Transportation Vehicles as defined in O.C.G.A. §40-1-1(43.1)(“PTVs), the use of PTV’s will be permitted on the public street segments identified in paragraph 1 if the conditions set forth in paragraphs 2 through 10 below are complied with.
Section 2.

This Ordinance, as amended from time to time, shall constitute the Columbus, GA Personal Transportation Vehicle Plan enacted in accordance with the provisions O.C.G.A. § 40-6-363, et. seq.
Section 3.

All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with this ordinance are hereby repealed.
