The term of office for Mr. Billy Blanchard would be expiring on December 31, 2014. However, the upcoming vacancies are appointed in July to begin the term in January. Mr. Billy Blanchard has served two consecutive terms; thereby, he is not eligible to succeed himself. This is the Council’s appointment.

There are currently three members residing in Senatorial District 29 and one member residing in Senatorial District 15. There are two wome serving on this board.

A copy of the data sheet and current board members are enclosed for your convenience.

OTHER REFENCES: Minutes of the July 17, 1990 meeting of the Columbus Council, Pages 213 and 214: Clerk of Council reports, and City Attorney concurs, that there are no prohibitions contained in the 1902 act that established the board, the Columbus Charter and the Columbus Code relative to a member of the Columbus Council serving as a member of the Board of Water Commissioners. Charge/Mission:This board has the responsibility for the operations of the Columbus Water Works. It is established by Act No 54, adopted by the General Assembly of Georgia on December 3, 1902.
