WHEREAS, the Columbus Consolidated Government is committed to the effective and efficient protection of its citizens through proactive detection and apprehension of offenders; and,
WHEREAS, the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation offers grants to improve the life-saving capabilities of first responders and public safety organizations in communities served by Firehouse Subs; and, WHEREAS, the Muscogee County Marshal’s Office requests permission to make application to receive up to $23,745 funding to purchase a Mobile License Plate Reader System to read tags that are associated with various crimes.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager is hereby authorized to submit an application and, if approved, accept a $23,745 grant from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and amend the Multi-Governmental Fund (216) in a like amount.
